Dhruvil's Story
Dhruvil Patani’s culinary journey began in the traditional kitchens of Gujarat, where he learned the fundamentals of Indian vegetarian cooking from his grandmother. Surrounded by the aromatic spices and time-honored techniques passed down through generations, he developed a deep appreciation for the artistry of Indian cuisine.
After moving to Germany, Dhruvil noticed a growing interest in authentic Indian vegetarian food, but found that many people lacked access to proper instruction in traditional techniques. This inspired him to start Vegara, where he could share his cultural heritage while adapting his teaching methods to the structured, detail-oriented approach that German students appreciate.
His classes are known for their perfect balance of authenticity and accessibility. Dhruvil believes that anyone can master Indian cooking with the right guidance, patience, and understanding of the fundamental principles behind each dish. He takes pride in demystifying complex spice combinations and techniques, making them approachable for cooks of all levels.
Today, Dhruvil continues to innovate his teaching methods while staying true to traditional recipes. His students don’t just learn to cook – they gain an understanding of Indian culture, the significance of spices in Ayurvedic tradition, and the joy of sharing food with loved ones.
